Insert Missing Attributes on the Product Record

NOTE:  When inserting an attribute, there are two steps.

  1.  Add the appropriate Attribute.
  2.  Be certain it has been cataloged (by running the Product Loader Rule).

Let’s us an example.  There is no piece count for a 550 piece puzzle.

  • From the Product File, follow the Insert hyperlink
  • Add the appropriate Attribute.   Here I’ve selected “550” pieces and clicked Insert Product Attribute.

In order for this Attribute to be in a Catalog, the Product Loader Rules must be processed.  In the Product Record, use the Actions drop down to Process Product Loader Rules.

Once you have Processed the Product Loader Rules, you will see that the piece count has been placed in a Catalog.  An attribute is not considered updated unless it it cataloged.

Update Attributes

NOTE:  When inserting an attribute, there are four steps.

  1.  Delete the unwanted Attribute
  2.  Insert the appropriate Attribute
  3.  Delete the unwanted Catalog
  4.  Be certain the product is in the correct Catalog by running the Product Loader Rule

Using the previous example, let’s say that I mistakenly added a “550” piece count, but it actually should be “5000”.  We will deal with the Attributes first.

  • Delete the unnecessary Attribute.
  • From the Product File, add the appropriate Attribute: “5000” pieces and click Insert Product Attribute.
  • Deactivate the unneeded catalog.  Click the blue Catalog hot button at the top right.  Deactivated the associated catalog, in this case “500 – 650 Pieces”.
  • Finally, Process the Product Loader Rules in order to place the “5000 Pieces” Attribute in the correct catalog.  From the Product Record, use the Actions drop down to Process Product Loader Rules.

You may now use the blue Catalog  hot button to see that your catalog has, indeed, been created.
